James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim take everyone's favorite storybook characters and bring them together for a timeless, yet relevant, piece... and a rare modern classic. The Tony Award-winning book and score are both enchanting and touching.
The story follows a Baker and his wife, who wish to have a child; Cinderella, who wishes to attend the King's Festival; and Jack, who wishes his cow would give milk. When the Baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a Witch's curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse. Everyone's wish is granted, but the consequences of their actions return to haunt them later with disastrous results.

The Nutcracker
Coming this winter 2023, Byron Civic Theater is proud to take on Marius Petipa's ballet "The Nutcracker". Set to the score of Pyotr Tchaikovsky's Opus 71 and based off of the short story by E.T.A. Hoffmann, The Nutcracker is a beloved ballet masterpiece that has been performed all around the world since its creation in 1892. Come join us for this one-day event. During each session dancers will learn specific choreography and ballet repertory that will prepare them for The Nutcracker auditions. Any dancers that are interested in auditioning for principal roles should sign up for the two-hour intensive at the conclusion of session 2. Willy Wonka Jr.
Roald Dahl's timeless story of the world-famous candy man and his quest to find an heir is a golden ticket to adventure.
The delicious adventures of Willy Wonka's chocolate factory light up the stage in this captivating adaptation of Roald Dahl's fantastical tale. Featuring the enchanting songs from the 1971 film, in addition to a host of fun new songs, Roald Dahl's Willy Wonka JR. is a scrumdidilyumptious musical guaranteed to delight everyone's sweet tooth.
Roald Dahl's Willy Wonka JR. follows enigmatic candy manufacturer Willy Wonka as he stages a contest by hiding golden tickets in five of his scrumptious candy bars. Whomever comes up with these tickets will win a free tour of the Wonka factory, as well as a lifetime supply of candy. Four of the five winning children are insufferable brats, but the fifth is a likeable young lad named Charlie Bucket, who takes the tour in the company of his equally amiable grandfather. The children must learn to follow Mr. Wonka's rules in the factory -- or suffer the consequences.

Auditions are open to youth, grades K-8. Auditions are free and will be held at the Byron Middle School Theatre. Audition Information
Kindergarten-2nd Grade:- Recite one of the following songs from memory while acting it out: Jack & Jill, I'm a little Teapot, or Star Light, Star Bright.
- Sing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, Mary had a Little Lamb, or a 20 second song of choice.
- Auditioners will learn 16 counts of basic choreography.
3rd-8th Grade:
- Memorize a monologue 45 seconds-2 minutes long. Memorizing a monologue is a good practice; when memorizing, give character to your monologue by showing expression through your tone, face, and body language. Monologues can be found at https://www.dramanotebook.com/monologues-kids/
- Sing a song of your choice that best showcases your voice in 60 seconds or less.
- Auditioners will learn 16 counts of basic choreography.

PRIVATE VOICE LESSONS
Book one-on-one lessons to improve your singing and style! Students will build up a repertoire of audition and performance songs with positive, constructive feedback. They will learn and fine-tune range, pitch, tone, placement, breathing, presence, and visualization.
